Chairman's MessageDear Player and Parents/Guardians
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to a new season with the club, whether you are a new or existing player. Founded in 1970, we are probably the oldest surviving youth football club in Bedford.
The Club continues to expand, providing football coaching and playing opportunities to a large number boys and girls from Brickhill and the surrounding areas. This season we will be running mini soccer teams at under 9,10 and 11’s age groups in the Filmergraphics League. Also this year we will be running a U11's team in the Chiltern junior 9's Saturday league. We will be running teams in the Chiltern League from U11 to U17’s. All these will play in the respective League and County cup competitions where possible.
The club has taken out insurance with with the beds F.A that covers the club and players for public liability .The club has also taken out a personal accident policy with sportsguard which gives us a higher level of cover. Should you as a parent or guardian, wish to take out further insurance cover then please feel free to do so.
Over the years the club has had a good disciplinary record. We wish to maintain this high standard, particularly as we have now achieved Charter Standard Status, so please take the time to read and familiarise yourselves with the code of conduct.
On our web-site you will find contact details for club physiotherapist and members of the Executive Committee. Please do not hesitate to contact any of them if you have a problem, or require further information, but please remember that they give up their own time to run the teams, and affairs of the club.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of any community youth football club, Brickhill Wanderers is no exception and welcomes any interest from adults who feel able to assist in the running in the running of the club, be it in a coaching capacity with one of the teams, or administrative capacity, helping with things such as press advertising, fund-raising, schools liaison or other administrative functions of the club. . The Club can provide/arrange training courses in football coaching, first aid & treatment of injuries, child protection, club administration etc, through the County Football Association, for becoming more involved with Brickhill Wanderers, please contact any of the executive Committee. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who may be able and willing to run, or help run, teams at the under 9 and Under 10 age groups for next season( 2010/ 2011).
Once again we wish you all an enjoyable and successful season.
